Tutoriales: Dos marcapáginas de fieltro bordados y un cuadrito fácil de hacer para un dormitorio de niña / Two embroidered felt bookmarks and an easy to make picture for a girl's bedroom

Good morning and good friday everybody!, yeees, weekend is here. The last two weekends are meaning no rest even for a minute as I'm redecorating my home which is looooots of work. It's an small flat but there were many things in my to-do list, we'll see if this weekend is the last one for home work. Only thinking that Christmas is just some days away, being able to rest, to wake up without an alarm clock, stay in bed until I want to and doing what I have been planning to do when redecorating is finished cheers me up, just some days more!. But today is tutorials' day so for those of you not redecorating your homes here you have my three suggestions, I hope you like them. Have you all a nice weekend!

¡Vienen dos niños! y un poco de música / Two baby boys coming! and a little bit of music

Good morning! Here you have my friend Mª José, the future mum of twins, in two photographs, the first one in a dressed baby bump and the second one without. She's fantastic bearing in mind she's five-month pregnant of her second and third baby who will make Irene big sister of her two.....brothers, because they both are going to be boys. Mª José an active woman who is now in a relative rest (due to her pregnancy) has been doing this incredible cross stich embroidered piece (I'd be unable to be patient enough to do it). Don't you think it's a beautiful embroidery picture?.

And changing the topic completely. Some weeks ago a friend and I went to a sunday morning classical music concert in the Ateneo Mercantil of Valencia (lovely concerts almost every sunday morning from 11.30 to 13 and they're free!). If you're curious about what this Ateneo Mercantil is here you have a link where you can get information: http://www.ateneovalencia.es/presentacion/. That week the concert program was music of Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven. The three performers did it perfectly so I had a very relaxing and nice morning and I never had seen a violinist with a deep red dyed hair. Nothing against it, of course not, it just clashed me a little bit. Here you have the two photographs I took during the concert

¿Soléis ir a conciertos de música clásica? ¿Os gusta ese tipo de música?. Un abrazo

Do you usually go to classical music concerts? Do you enjoy that kind of music?. Hugs

Aprendiendo a bordar / Learning embroidery

Good morning and good monday! Today is a feast day in Spain, the Inmaculada day (happy saint day to all Inmaculadas, Inmas, Concepciones and Conchitas). This is being a long weekend so I'm making the most of it doing some diy at home (well to tell the truth I've asked someone to come and make them and I help him because I know almost nothing about home diy jejeje). My home also needed to soak in this change moment of my life and although those changes will be made with more imagination than money, no good time for high expenses, I think the result will be a good one (I hope!).

And changing absolutely the topic. Do you like embroidery? do you usually embroider little pieces of cloth for your home, your clothes or even on your quilts?. Some time ago I showed you a baby quilt I had chainstitched the name "Carolina" on it. I don't know much embroidery stitches but I'd love to learn so when I saw this image in www.hudsonsholidays.blogspot.com I thought you, like me, might be interested and who knows? in some spare moment over the weekend you could practise them. I'm going to try to find some free time and try to learn some new embroidery stitches. I hope you find it useful, a hug to all

Inspiración: Visita virtual a 10 preciosos apartamentos en París / Inspiration: Virtual visit to 10 gorgeous Paris apartments

Buen lunes!

Good monday! If I name you the city of Paris what does it suggest you? fashion? romanticism? beauty? history? perhaps some of these things or a mix of them all. My tutorials: a redecorated bag, a butterfly picture and two baby bibs

Good morning and good friday everybody! I hope you have nice weekend plans ahead but before starting that weekend I'd like to show you three little tutorials of things I made some weeks ago: the first one is a bag made from a material similar to jeans and that somebody gave me years ago and which I kept patiently inside a drawer. I had an orphan block from the baby quilt I showed you and it fitted perfectly with the drawing in the front so there it went.

Aquí tenéis la bolsa antes/Here you have the before:

y después/and after:

I also showed you a picture that I had already redecorated at my home and here you have another one I made even before. Sorry there's no before photograph but this is the after for which you only need some paint, a printed paper, little pegs and some glue.

And finally two baby bibs. The pattern of the flower is from a book but over it I did some variations and the little house one is from internet where you have lots of them. The idea of the embellishments and the rest of things is totally mine. I hope you like the things I've been making lately. A weekend hug to all

Inspiración: cómo decorar un dormitorio pequeño / How to style a bed in a small space

Good wednesday! Do you have a big house/flat? if the answer is yes, lucky you (I don't, glups, I wish I had) but if your answer is no here you have lots of ideas to decorate, or redecorate, that small bedroom you've been neglecting because you couldn't find the right idea to give it a make over. I hope they help you, hugs

2.078 y/and 32

www.taringa.net
Good monday everybody! How about your weekend? have you enjoyed it? I hope so, and that you've been able to relax to allow you a nice week.

You may wonder what those two figures in today's post mean. Well, the first one were the emails that yesterday I still had to open in my inbox and the second one the Facebook's reminders (I have no idea if the word is the same in English than in Spanish which is "notificaciones") to check. How could I have 2.078 emails to read? Very easy prioritizing: prioritizing doing other things than switching on the computer (which is really a "time eater" that doesn't bear that "this time yes" you have made the decision to spend just an hour in front its screen), prioritizing meeting someone/people in general, prioritizing resting or prioritizing a thousand different things. And Facebook? it goes into the same rank. There are people who like being on top of the last photograph, the last comment,.....in a nutshell, of the last thing but that's not my case. If I have nothing better to do then welcome internet and the lot I learn from it, no doubt, but what if I have other things to do? then there it rests internet and the computer. Something that seems plain common sense is not so for everybody and I really recommend it. The world is out of the screen you're looking at right now and it's good to remember that from time to time, do you agree?. A monday hug to all

Video: La Film Symphony Orchestra......y algo más / The Film Symphony Orchestra......and something else

Good morning everybody! First of all I'd like to apologize for not having been with you last monday but the reason is that I usually write the weekly posts during the weekend and I couldn't but today's one, although having written it just some hours ago, arrives on time for this wednesday.

Let me get you into the scene for the video that today I'm suggesting you to watch: the day? it happened last saturday 8th November, the place? Exhibition and Conference centre in Málaga (Spain), the principal actor? Francisco Valverde, the reason for the video? a romantic proposal during a Film Symphony Orchestra concert. It lasts 4 minutes and is in Spanish but feelings need no translation, do they?. After all the romanticism........exists!. A romantic wednesday hug to all

Good morning and good friday! I hope you'll enjoy a very nice weekend. Auitumn has officially started in Valencia, during this week one day it was summer and the following full autumnn and low temperatures but we're in November so we can't complain. Today I'd like to show you a baby quilt, a teddy bear made with the back of the baby quilt and a picture all made by me.

The baby quilt is made following the "disappearing nine patch" technique (here you can watch a video tutorial and check how easy it is):

Before sewing the backing of the baby quilt I chainstitched the name of the baby and simply sewed part of the backing to the front as a kind of binding. Sorry about the poor quality of the photograph and although it is a little wrinkled I promised I had ironed it before putting it in a plastic bag ready to be given to the future mum jajaja.

And here you can see the teddy bear with the little flower in one of the quilt colours. I'm sorry to say that I can't remember where did I get the pattern from but in the internet you'll be able to find thousands of them.

And last a picture which I'm quite proud of because it's the first time in my life that I paint a little picture. I'm interested in painting as a creative activity but I have to admit that my skills for it are almost none and apart from that I prefer the fabric and the thread. Although I don't have a "before" photo I can tell you that the picture was hanging vertically and they were some dark red big flowers and now is hanged horizontally and it's a seascape (a little bit abstract and nice for my taste). The technique I used was painting the whole picture in white to give me a neutral base and then start improvising with brown, white and blue giving it some touches of green. I hope you like it

Mis tutoriales: Cómo pintar un tarro de cristal, cómo hacer un clutch de un mantel individual de Ikea y cómo reciclar un cuadrito feo en un cuadrito mariposa/ My tutorials: How to paint a crystal pot, how to make a clutch from an Ikea placemat and how to recycle an ugly picture into a butterfly little picture

Good morning! how many plans do you have for this weekend? any Halloween party to attend? do you already have your costume? I hope that, whatever you do, you enjoy the weekend a lot. I've been very creative lately, probably starting a new stage in my life and not having time for almost anything (always running doing things) makes my head going faster and having more ideas coming to my mind. Here you have three of my tutorials that I hope you like. Have you all a nice weekend

1.-

From this crystal pot filled with sea shells I had in my bathroom to the one you can see below it was only needed ten minutes, a little bit of blue paint, some glue and a little patience. You mix paint and glue and then inside the phot where you spread it out carefully (not much amount is needed but some patience to spread it well), you put the pot upside down and wait until it's completely dry. I love the result

2.-

I brought to a wedding two weeks ago I only needed a stapler, a permanent marker, a zip and an old chain belt

3.-

And for the third and last craft for today there's a no "before" (sorry) but the person who received it as a present loved it, so that's the important thing. It was a little picture I was keeping for some time and with a little paint and some paper turned into this butterfly little picture

http://www.tengounhornoysecomousarlo.com/2014/03/pan-de-soda-irlandes-version-ultra.html

Good morning! I hope you're having a nice week. Have you ever made bread at home? That smell from the kitchen, smells like home and something nice cooking. Not last saturday but the previous one my friend Mariví and I had the opportunity of restart our monthly dates with the needle and.....the tongue jajaja and we tried to make bread too. It was the third time that I made soda bread, it's very quick and easy to make. Here you have the recipe in English:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/irishsodabread_67445

and above you see how it looked. It tasted veeery well (in fact in the photograph there's already one missing jejeje).

But not only did we made bread or talk till no end jajaja but we also had time to sew. Mariví was making some no sew Christmas ornaments (I'll show you some photos), an appliqué for a t-shirt and a zip brooch (you can see photographs below) and I  finished sewing a baby quilt and a little bear (next week I'll show you the photographs) and getting ready to be sewn these two wallhangings for my friend Mª José (she's expecting twins so two baby quilts sewing are in my near future as they're due for mid April, I still have time to sew them). We spent a lovely day together. Hugs

La Russafa Book Weekend / The Russafa Book Weekend

Good monday everybody! Last weekend 17-19 October the "Russafa Book Weekend" was celebrated in Valencia (http://russafabookweekend.es/wp-content/media/descargas/Triptico-RBW14-ES.pdf). The truth is that I can't understand very well why putting an English name for a book showing in Valencia, but well they'll be sure good reasons for that. Well, straight to the point. During all that weekend there were different kind of shows and performances, etc.. with the aim of allowing everybody to get to know different bookshops in Valencia. That friday afternoon my friend Ana and I went to see what it was about and the new books. There we could see two artistic performances and a singer I didn't know: Alba Gharés. Here you have some photographs of that afternoon and a Youtube video for you to enjoy her fantastic voice. Hugs

Good morning and good monday to all!. I hope you've had a nice weekend. Today's post is in relation with last wednesday's one in which I told you that my working situation has changed. I have written these 20 advices myself from my own experience. I hope that if you ever have to go through the same experience (I hope not) they'll be as useful as they've been for me.

Seek the advice of a lawyer from minute 1. It's the best decision you can make to defend your interests and rights.
2.  Haz deporte. Do sport. It's a moment of a high strain, having to take many decisions which will be of vital importance for your future. A very stressing moment so it is a good idea to try to channel all that strain through sport.
Try to sleep and rest by night. If you can't sleep in a natural way take the necessary pills to rest. It's very important for you to be clear-headed and not sleeping night after night doesn't help you in any way.
4. Intenta comer sano. Try to eat healthily. It's possible that will all that strain you wouldn't feel like neither eating nor prepare anything healthy for eating. Big mistake. You need to eat healthy to be strong.
Haz otras cosas. Keep your usual routine. You need this situation not to be the only center of activity in your life. Do other things.
Go to work as made up as usual or more than usual. Make up in a discreet way but spotless.
Bring along with you a little notebook and a pen. Write down everything. In those moments our head is in too many places to be able to remember of many details which might be important.
Do any activity which you may like, preferably something by hand (sewing, painting, knitting, etc..).
9.  Haz lo necesario para verte bien. Ve a la peluquería, hazte la manicura, etc…. Do the necessary to look well. Go to the hairdresser, get a mani, etc..
10. Mueve curriculums enseguida. "Move" curriculums right then. "Move" your personal and work contacts in order your curriculum arrives to as many people as possible.
Work efficiently up to the last minute you are in your job and not because of your bosses but for yourself. Don't ever allow anybody to tell you you've neglected your work.
Try to say goodbye to the people you've had work contact, regardless of bearing in mind that can be an opportunity for you of having another email address or contact able to "move" your curriculum. You never know if in the future you could be work mates in another company and above all because you're a good manners person.
Say goodbye to the people who have dismissed you in best mannered way, you never know how many turns life has and it's always better to do the right thing.
Don't ever be carried along by your annoyance or anger towards your exbosses whichever the reason for that dismissal. To lose control of yourself would be detrimental only to you and would be useless.
Allow yourself a little treat, something small which you may like. You're going through a very unpleasant moment in your life and you're entitled to it.
If you can afford it go to a esthetic center for a nice massage, you'll relieve the strain and relax you at least for a while. In any case there are "low cost" esthetic centres in all cities, make the most of them.
Meet a friend but try to do something together not related with the problem, for example a shopping afternoon.
Watch TV programmes or read something as trivial as possible. You need to lose contact of your problem, it'll help you to think about it without really thinking.
Always remember the support you've received from people around you and try to remember it in order to offer the same one when that people go through difficult moments. Your time is as valuable as theirs. Don't have time for people who have proved not having it for you.
If you are a believer, pray and if not, try to dedicate some minutes to meditate about you and what's happening to you.
Try to be positive and think that a dismissal is not the end of the world, it's just the end of a stage and the beginning of another one. There're always options as long as you don't stop looking for opportunities.
