¡Vacaciones de verano! / Summer holidays!

Good morning! Day by day, post after post we have arrived to the last day of July. August is usually "the" month for summer holidays so if that's your case yours start in just some hours (mine will start next 12th). Now it's time to rest, relax, live without watches, simply allowing oneself to live without time. Although during the month of August my intention is to rest a little bit I won't be too far from the computer so I'll be posting once or twice a week  and would love to keep on reading your comments. Blogging is quite an addiction jajaja. Summer kisses to all!

Tutorial: Un cuadro reciclado/ A recycled picture

Good morniiing! the last week of the month of July starts today, just one more effort, summer holidays are round the corner. This is a craft I made recently and it has nothing to do with needle and thread. It is completely (or almost) recycled.

Some cardboard boxes (I used some spare ones from where I work), a pencil, glue, scissors and paint.

Find the word you prefer, find the font you like best (I chose Edwardian) and print it choosing the size you want. Copy each letter 5 times, cut them out and glue it one on top of the other. Choose the lid of a cardboard box which suits the size of the letters. To give it a little extra what I did was to cut out some cardboard strips and glue them before glueing the letters on top. You paint it and that's it, you have a recycled picture. Hugs!

Good morning everybody!!. It's friday so here you have a tutorial, today a brooch made with a zipper. The one you can see in the photograph is made by me (that hand behind it is mineee jajja). I made it following a video tutorial I saw by chance in the YouTube. The supplies are: a zipper of about 80 cm long, a little piece of felt, needle, thread and a safety pin. Here you have the YouTube video, which is original by gustaunmonton.com. The video is in Spanish but I think the images speak by themselves and you won't have any problem. I hope you like it and you make it. A weekend kiss for everybody!

Good Wednesday everybody!. Today I've thought a good idea to put this quote by Alexander Graham Bell which I find very inspiring. It's originally in English so this time I have translated it into Spanish. "When one door closes another opens, but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us"

Cómo desestresarse..........a la italiana / How to de-stress..........in the italian way

Good morning and good Monday!. Let’s start the week with energy, it’s only a week before summer holidayssss. Some time ago I read this piece of news in a magazine and I thought it was quite odd:

“Street artist Fra.Biancoshock has made a installation in a bus stop of Milan (Italy) consisting of bubblewrap ready for bus passengers to be used to amuse themselves or de-stress. There is bubblewrap for 3, 5 or 10 minutes”.

Curioso, sencillo, entretenido y gratuito…….¡perfecto!. Un abrazooo

Bus passengers only had to choose the size according to the time they had to wait for the bus. Odd, simple, amusing and free…..perfect!. Hugs

Tutorial: Bolso de funda de almohada / Pillow case bag

Delante-Front

Detrás-Back

Helloooo, thank God it’s Friday! For those of you who doesn’t have to work this afternoon weekend is startiiing and for those who have it’s just this afternoon and tomorrow beach, relax or…….whatever you’d like to do. It’s Friday so here you have another tutorial to make a bag you can use either to go to the beach or simply wear this summer. And yes, made with a pillow case.

Buen findeeee!

Two more things: the first is that in the end I've been able to put the song I wanted to last Wednesday so if you go back to Wednesday’s post you’ll be able to listen it, I hope you like it and the second one is that I am making a different tutorial (no sewing this time jajaja) made with cardboard, glue, a little paint and all recycled, I think it’ll be a nice one, you’ll see. Well, let’s go with the steps of the pillow case bag. Have a nice weekend!!

A pillow case of 1.35 m, thread, needle, scissors.

Cut both hems at each side and cut it on the diagonal. From bottom right to upper left.

Place one pillow case half inside the other, lining up bottom edges, pin and sew at front where fabrics overlap. Repeat on the other side, turn fabric inside out and sew the bottom of the bag. Knot top ends and then you’ll have a handle and that’s it!. I think the steps will be clear by having a look at the photographs. If any of you want to make it and don’t see it clear please leave a comment and I’ll contact you.

Opciones mil...¿qué te sugiere a ti?. Un abrazo a todooos

Good morning, continuing the monday's post about the slowness here you have two things: a photograph and a song. What do you think about this daybed-hammock? imagine yourself just for a moment, a not too hot afternoon, good music, good book or just close your eyes and relax. A thousand possibilities.....what does it suggest you?. Hugs for all!!

Elogio a la lentitud / Tribute to slowness

                                                                 www.vivirvalencia.com

Buenos días y buen lunes a tod@s!.

Good morning and good Monday to all!. This post arrives to you on Monday morning but I wrote it yesterday evening as soon as I arrived home after a relaxing Sunday afternoon in beach. I love sunbathing, hearing the sea and looking at the people around, you can always learn something.

While I was relaxing in the sun I was thinking that perhaps, due to the summer holidays approaching, you might be interested in me talking about the “slow”. I think it was Ferrán Adriá, the famous Spanish cook, who coined the term “slow food” related with his professional context. The term “slow” can be used related to almost anything we do, perhaps not daily because the daily hurries don’t allow us to to do it but we can in other moments of the week, for example at the weekends. Have you ever thought that any Saturday or Sunday we can do things one by one instead of three by three as we use to?. We can enjoy the slowness, not having to do something in a fixed or specific moment, for example. Now summer holidays are so near I think it’s the right time of the year to put the “slow” into practice and stop for a little bit enjoying of what we have and who we have around, no hurries, peacefully. Good Monday for all!

Tutorial: el bolsito rojo oscuro / The deep red little bag

Good morning!! How's been the week? I wish you a very happy weekend and if possible even better doing a tutorial, that way you’ll have another accessory for this summer. The little bag you can see in the photograph was given to me, years ago, by a stationery salesperson when buying post-its. When I saw it I thought it was nice but plain so I bought some wood beads and planned how to sew them to style it a little bit and that's what I figured out. You can use the idea to decorate any solid fabric bag you already have or you can make it with any piece of fabric you already have at home. A bag of this size is made very quickly. As I always say: Power to the imagination!. Ah and for my abroad readers I just want to say that I have already translated into English almost all entries for if you want to have a look. A weekend hug for everybody!!.

Un poco de música para este miércoles / A little bit of music for this wednesday

Good morning!, some days ago I was in a shop when I suddenly heard the song "Give me the night" by George Benson. It was a loong time since the last time I heard it and it was a pleasure. Today I want to share it with you but with a little request: when you are peacefully at home, you would stand up in the middle of the room, play the song, close your eyes and……dance!.

For the ones reading my blog at work: don’t even think listening to it and dancing at the office or your boss will have a thing or two to tell you jajajaja. Wait for home and enjoy it, hugs!!

¡me encantará leerlos!.

Good morning and happy monday! after a lovely summer weekend (in Valencia the weather is reaaally hot!) I've thought the best way to start the week is with such an interesting sentence as this one. Would you like to make any comment or does it inspire you any thought about today's sentence? I'd love to read your comments!. A hug for all!.

"I have never met a man so ignorant that I couldn't learn something from him"

Good morning!! here you have another easy (more than easy) tutorial. You only need two necklaces (same colour or different to match with your clothes for example), a piece of an old t-shirt, vlieseline, needle, thread, scissors and an iron.

For doing it, follow the red rose brooch tutorial and sew the flower to the necklace and, that’s it!. It can’t be easier. I hope you make a lovely necklace for any of your summer outfits or one for each!!. For the US people reading this blog I hope you've had a great 4th July celebration and a weekend hug for all!!

About the blog, about the sales and a different way to prepare coffee

Buenos díaaas!. ¿Qué tal habéis empezado el miércoles? ánimo que ya está la semana mediada. Hoy os escribo respecto a tres cosas diferentes. Voy por orden:

Good morning!! How have you started this wednesday? cheer up we are already in the middle of the week. Today I'm writing you about three different topics. In order:

1. About the blog. In the right part of the page you'll see a white blank, just above it says "Sígueme por mail/follow me by email". If you type your email address and press the key you can see just beside the one saying "Submit" you will receive the post of the day in your inbox early in the morning or each monday, wednesday and friday. You'll see that Kyvic 100% is sending that mail and when you open it you'll only have to click in the title of the post of the day and it will direct you straight to the blog. So you won't miss any of the posts!

2. About the sales. I don't know if the places where you live change during sales but I can assure you Valencia does jajaja. On monday there were people everywhere in the centre of Valencia! I don't know if buying or just having a look (…crisis you know!). I only went to H&M and there were lots of people all around the shop. There is indeed a shop which is my favourite, Zara Home. It's said that the Queen of England closes or closed Harrod's once a week for her and the Royal family could make their shopping without any disturbance. I'd love to be the Queen and have the same privilege (with her budget for shopping eh? jajaja) but in Zara Home. I love the decoration style. I have bought many things there, everything has a special touch. Referring to the sales I advice you to wait to the third sale there. The first are on 1st July, some days later they do the second sales (nooo, waiiiit) and when they put the advice of third sales, that's the moment. You can find bargains there, I have found them. I'd like to make clear that I haven't received anything from Zara Home shops for saying this, it's my personal opinion.

3. A different way to prepare coffee. I can't remember where did I learn this way of preparing coffee but I love it. In summer I always have a bottle in the fridge and have a loong coffee (decaf) as a soft drink and it tastes very well. You can use just prepared coffee or like me, Nescafé instant coffee. You need: coffee, obviously jajaja, sacarine or sugar, and the lemon peel which you have previously washed really well. I do it this way: I warm up some water as if to prepare 10-15 cups of coffee. I put that hot water in a strong plastic bottle and add 10 teaspoonful of Nescafé. Then I add double amount of sacarine, if I put 10 teaspoonful of instant coffee I put 20 sacarine pills and now the special ingredient: the lemon peel. For those 10-15 cups of coffee you'll have to add about 5 lemon peel (without the white part because that could ruin your coffee). You mix all this together: hot instant coffee, sacarine, lemon peel and leave it to cool on the kitchen counter and then into the fridge. Please let me know if you have done it and if you have liked it. Hugs!!

¿Amor? en internet / Love? in the internet

                                                                    www.muycomputer.com

Good morning!! What about your weekend? I hope you’ve had a nice one. We start another week……summer holidays are getting neareeeer.

The other day a friend of mine sent me an email telling me about webs for meeting men and women in the internet. Would you choose this way to meet a partner? Do you agree seeking for a partner in the internet?. Hugs!!
