Disfrutando de las pequeñas cosas /Enjoying the little things

Good morning! It's almost a month since my last post, time flies. Luckily things are smoother in my life now so therefore I am able to spend some minutes writing this entry. As I told you in my last post, my mother has senile dementia so she only has some very little lucid moments a day, the rest of the time she's like a baby having to be taken care at all times. My father suffers her illness beside her. He's very old too (he'll be 85 next month) but he still is a self-sufficient person for everything. For all of us it's very sad to see my mother in her illness but it is every more painful for my father as they are together for 52 years. Well, there's no solution and we can only take care of her the best we can to make her life the most pleasant possible. End of the sad part of this post.

Due to my mother's illness and other negative circumstances of my present life I have learned to value and enjoy those little happy moments we all have. Enjoy a sunset, a blue sky, a starred sky, a supportive friend (thank you very much Ana!), to do a favourite activity alone or with other people, etc.. those million positive little things that are around us and that we often don't even realise and value them because we are running from one place to another or from one thing to another. I am learning to do it and it is so gratifying!. Life can be hard but it always has a nice side we value double in those moments . It's up to us to find that nice side, I encourage you to find it, it's there!!.

I've also have had time to take some photographs of a bookmark and a little basket from a plastic bottle that I've made, of this moon in the beach last week and of this quilt top seen in an outdoor activity of a quilting group, a lovely day:

Estad atentaaas, besos

Please don't lose contact because I'll be back with lots of tutorials that I've been compiling so you'll have lots of ideas to make this holidays. See you soon, probably next week. Stay tuneeeeed, kisses

Un saludo y la razón de este parón bloguero / A hello and the reason for this blog stop

Good morning, just a few lines to say hello and telling you, very briefly, the reason why I have stop blogging "sinedie". It's so difficult to put this into writing but there it goes, my mother is each day weaker, each day more ill (she has senile dementia and a very severe heart condition) and although each day is a day more we don't know how much more time she'll be with us. She breathes with difficulty, doesn't walk, hardly speaks. As you can imagine life, day by day, in this situation, besides of each one's problems makes it difficult to concentrate in many things despite there's no alternative as life goes on and can't stop. I only tell you this because I'm still in this blog "stop" which I don't know how much will last. My spirit depends on days, logically, but life goes on and I do my best to go on with it. A big hug to all

Good morning! how are you? how're things? I hope you all are fine. I only wanted to say a little hello and tell you that I'll still need to be out of the blog a little bit more, sometimes there are many things in life to be solved and the only way is one by one starting with the first one but please do not forget the blog because I'll be back (uuups it sounds like Terminator jajaja), soon. A thursday hug to all!

Hola, ¿cómo estáis? / Hello, how are you?

Good morning, good monday and good week start! I hope you'd had a nice month of May start, the weather is so good (in Valencia this last weekend we've had summer heat, too much!) and kind of feel like doing outdoor activities. I know I've been out of the blog for some time but in these moments I have to concentrate in other aspects of my life. I check my mail daily so if you want to leave any comment it'll reach me for sure. From time to time I'll be here to tell you what I've been doing and showing you photographs (like today ones) of the sewing things I am able to find the time to sew. I will be back to post as frequently as before but I can't tell you when, in the meantime I'm sending a big hug to all!

Weeeeell, and here I show you the little things I've been doing during March and April, let's start with a little teddy bear for a baby girl who is about to be born:

And this is an onesie and a pair or tiny socks rolled up in a way that they seem to be like a cupcake, useful and original at the same time:

La idea la saqué de aquí / The idea is from here: http://club.chicacircle.com/cupcake-onesies-gift-idea/

Después vinieron dos colchitas para dos bebés (dos niños, llamados Josep y Robert, de ahí sus iniciales en la parte de atrás de las colchas) cuyo patrón saqué de aquí: / Then two baby quilts for two baby boys (they are Josep and Robert, you can see their initials in the backing of each baby quilt), the pattern is from here: http://fatquartershop.blogspot.com.es/2015/02/layers-of-charm-free-quilt-pattern-with.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed:+JollyJabber+(Fat+Quarter+Shop's+Jolly+Jabber) aunque yo les añadí un detallito diferente en el centro/although I added a little different detail in the center

And I sewed this orphan block with a flower shape button to a bag which makes it more cheerful, I'l give it as a present soon

This jewellery box is from a friend of mine who showed it to me not knowing what to do with it so with some paper handkerchieves and some glue this is the before and after:

Y por último dos marcapáginas: / and finally two bookmarks:

Mis tutoriales: Un cuadro de mariposas /My tutorials: A butterfly picture

Good morning! Before starting some days of holidays from the blog (I'll see you next 15th April) I'd like to show you my tutorial: a butterfly picture. I did this picture from one I had with the background in white and an urban landscape in black, completely different of what you can see here!. These are the steps to get this result:

(Paint all your picture in the colour you prefer (I did it pink because it was for a little girl's bedroom). Allow it to dry completely. In my case I did it before going to Alicante during Fallas because as the weather was cold and humid I wanted to make the most of those days away to allow it to dry well before glueing the butterflies).

(Find a butterfly template you'd like and then cut two for each one. You'll also need a tiny clothes peg for each butterfly, that'll be the body).

(Put some glue on the center of one butterfly and leave it flat and the one on top glue it with its wings folded to the center. You'll see clearer more by the photograph than from my words. Arrange the butterflies in the way you please, and that's it!).

Last monday I told you I'll show you today the two baby quilt tops but I prefer to show them to you when they'll be ready to give it to the babies' mum. This Easter holidays will be the best moment to finish them so I'll show you photographs when I am back. Enjoy this spring Easter days as much as you can and see you next 15th April. A big hug to all
