Hace no mucho dando una vuelta por unos grandes almacenes ví un caftán de Calvin Klein hecho de gasa con un precio que pa qué os cuentooo y me dio la idea de poneros este tutorial por si os apeteciera haceros uno en un ratito y lucir bien guapas en la playa o piscina. Perdonad mi poca habilidad para dibujar pero he pensado que estos dibujos os facilitarían el saber cómo hacer el caftán. Espero que os guste y que lo luzcáis yendo a la playa fresquitas y con estilo. Not so long ago I went to a big department store and I saw a Calvin Klein beach cover-up, a very pricey one, made of gauze and it gave me the idea to put this tutorial today in case you want to make one for yourselves in almost no time and look beautiful in the beach or pool. Please excuse my bad drawing abilities but I thought this drawings would make easier for you to know how to do the beach cover-up.I hope you like it and enjoy going stylish to the beach. I have thought about a little surprise, something different that I hope you like it. From 18^th August I’ll give you more details, it’ll be a kind of a riddle about a place, I’ll tell you more then. The prize will be to post once in this blog about the topic the winner would choose. The winner will send me the text (either in English or Spanish) and photographs or only the text to post (always bearing in mind the good manners and respect to the blog, its readers and me) and I’ll post it as I receive it. It’ll be fun!!

Materiales: Dos pañuelos rectangulares de algodón o material fino  de unos 60 cm de ancho por 1.80 cm de largo aprox., hilo, aguja y tijeras.

 

Supplies: Two scarves of about 60 cm wide x 1.80 cm long, thread, needle and scissors.

 

Realización: Poned los pañuelos derecho con derecho y cosedlos a lo largo dejando una abertura en el centro de unos 45 cm para poder meter la cabeza. Como podéis ver el caftán tiene escote de pico delante y detrás. Podéis coserle los costados un poco para que se quede más como un vestido de playa o dejarlo tal cual.

 

Steps: Face right sides of scarves, sew them along the length leaving an opening for the head of about 45 cm. As you can see the beach cover-up has a V-neck front and back. You can sew both sides a little bit for it to be more like a dress or leave it as it is.

 

 

Rebajas de verano/Summer sales

Hoy os tengo que decir que.....no me pude resistir, no me pude resistiiiiiiir. Al final hace unos días fui a las terceras rebajas de Zara Home y "piqué". Hay aún muchas cositas chulas que se pueden encontrar. Aquí os pongo una foto de lo que he comprado hasta ahora (las rebajas duran hasta final de mes y no me despido de volver a..."picar" jejeje). Animaros y daros una vuelta por allí que ahora es el momento de compraros un caprichito a buen precio. Por ejemplo las tazas valían 7.99€, la primera rebaja fue a 5.99€, después a 4.99€ y yo las he comprado a 2.99€ y el vaso de plástico azul valía 3.99€, la primera rebaja fue a 2.99€ y lo he comprado por 1.50€. Las servilletas son 100% algodón, valían unos 6€ y he comprado las 4 por 2.99€. Son algodón de buena calidad así que creo que las utilizaré para combinar con alguna otra tela y hacer alguna cosa de patchwork. Como siempre digo para escribir este post no he recibido ni regalo ni dinero alguno de Zara Home, son mis opiniones al 100%. Today I have to say that......I couldn´t resist, I couldn't resistttttttt. In the end some days ago I went to the third sales in Zara Home and I bought. There you still can find very nice things to buy. Here you have a photograph of what I've bought up to now (the third sales are on until the end of the month so I will probably not "resist" buying something again jejeje). Go there and have a look now it's the best moment to find that "little something" at the best price. For example the mugs were 7.99€, the first sale 5.99€, then 4.99€ and I have bought them for 2.99€ and the blue plastic glass was 3.99€, the first sale was 2.99€ and I have bought it for 1.50€. The 100% cotton napkins were about 6€ and I have bought the four for 2.99€. It's a good quality cotton so I think I'll use them to mix with other fabrics to make a little quilting something. As I always say I haven't received any money or present from Zara Home to write this post, they are my opinions at 100%. Buenos días! Día a día, post a post hemos llegado al último día del mes de Julio. Agosto suele ser el mes de vacaciones por excelencia, si es vuestro caso vuestras vacaciones de verano comienzan en sólo unas horas (las mías comenzarán el día 12). Ahora toca descansar, relajarse, vivir sin reloj, simplemente dejándose llevar por el tiempo.  Aunque durante este mes de Agosto mi intención es descansar un poco no estaré muy lejos del ordenador por lo que seguiré posteando una o dos veces por semana y me encantará leer vuestros comentarios. Esto del blog crea adicción jajaja. Besos veraniegos a todos!!

 

Good morning! Day by day, post after post we have arrived to the last day of July. August is usually "the" month for summer holidays so if that's your case yours start in just some hours (mine will start next 12th). Now it's time to rest, relax, live without watches, simply allowing oneself to live without time. Although during the month of August my intention is to rest a little bit I won't be too far from the computer so I'll be posting once or twice a week  and would love to keep on reading your comments. Tutorial: Un cuadro reciclado/ A recycled picture

Buenos díaaas! hoy empieza la última semana del mes de Julio, sólo un esfuerzo más que ya llegan las vacacioneeees. Esta es una manualidad que he hecho hace muy poco y nada tiene que ver con la aguja y el hilo. Es totalmente (o casi) reciclada. Ah! que se me olvidaba, la palabra dream significa soñar.

 

Good morniiing! the last week of the month of July starts today, just one more effort, summer holidays are round the corner. This is a craft I made recently and it has nothing to do with needle and thread. It is completely (or almost) recycled.

 

 

Materiales/Supplies: algunas cajas de cartón (yo utilicé algunas que sobraban del trabajo), lápiz, pegamento, tijeras y pintura. Some cardboard boxes (I used some spare ones from where I work), a pencil, glue, scissors and paint.

Realización/Steps: buscad la palabra que queráis, buscad el tipo de letra que más os guste (yo elegí Edwardian) e imprimid eligiendo el tamaño que queráis. Calcad 5 veces cada letra, recortad y pegad una encima de otra. Elegid la tapa de una caja que se acople al tamaño de las letras. Para darle algo de textura lo que hice fue recortar tiras de cartón y pegarlas y luego pegar las letras encima. Lo pintáis y ya está, ya tenéis cuadro reciclado. Un abrazoo!. Find the word you prefer, find the font you like best (I chose Edwardian) and print it choosing the size you want. Copy each letter 5 times, cut them out and glue it one on top of the other. Choose the lid of a cardboard box which suits the size of the letters. To give it a little extra what I did was to cut out some cardboard strips and glue them before glueing the letters on top. You paint it and that's it, you have a recycled picture. Hugs!

 

Tutorial: Un broche de cremallera / A zipper brooch

Buenos días a todos!!. Es viernes así que ahí va un tutorial, hoy el de un broche hecho con una cremallera. El que véis en la foto está hecho por mí (esa mano debajo de él es míaa jaja). Lo hice siguiendo un video tutorial que encontré de casualidad en el YouTube. Los materiales necesarios son: una cremallera con dientes metálicos (queda mejor) de unos 80 cm de largo, un trocito de fieltro, aguja, hilo y un imperdible. Os pongo el video del YouTube, que es original de la web gustaunmonton.com. Está en castellano así que no tendréis problema. Espero que os guste y que lo hagáis. Un beso de finde para todos!

 

Good morning everybody!!. It's friday so here you have a tutorial, today a brooch made with a zipper. The one you can see in the photograph is made by me (that hand behind it is mineee jajja). I made it following a video tutorial I saw by chance in the YouTube. The supplies are: a zipper of about 80 cm long, a little piece of felt, needle, thread and a safety pin. Here you have the YouTube video, which is original by gustaunmonton.com. The video is in Spanish but I think the images speak by themselves and you won't have any problem. Los pasajeros sólo tenían que escoger el tamaño en función del tiempo que tuvieran que esperar el autobús. Curioso, sencillo, entretenido y gratuito…….¡perfecto!. Un abrazooo
