Buenos díaas y buen lunes! ¿Qué tal el fin de semana? Espero que hayáis pasado un finde agradable.

Good morning and good Monday! How about your weekend? I hope you’ve had a nice one.

Los niños valencianos (no sé si también en otras ciudades) empezaron el nuevo curso hace una semana. Comenzar un nuevo curso siempre lleva cambios, esa sensación de nuevo (nuevos libros, nuevo profe, nuevos compas de clase, etc). Y aunque los que me leéis sois adultos y no empezamos cole ninguno creo buena idea contagiarnos un poco de esa idea y darle un aire distinto al blog. A diario recibo, via correos de mis contactos de hotmail o via los blogs que consulto o estoy suscrita, muchos tutoriales, ideas curiosas, propuestas, videos, etc. que suelo reenviar al resto de mis contactos y que a partir de ahora compartiré también con vosotros. La verdad es que cada día me maravilla más la creatividad e ingenio que encuentro en la blogosfera, ¡es impresionante!. Continuaré posteando lunes, miércoles y viernes (como desde finales de Abril cuando empecé este blog) y lo más probable es que los viernes sean de manera permanente los días Tutorial pero a partir de ahora la mayor parte de los tutoriales serán de otras personas (seguiré poniendo también mis propios tutoriales pero no cada semana). Respecto a los lunes y miércoles, iré variando: un tema, alguna canción, algo curioso para que podáis ver o leer, etc. Veréis qué cosas más chulas estoy recopilando para poneros aquí, creo que os gustarán. Ah! dos cositas más: si queréis hacer una sugerencia o comentario de algo que os gustaría ver reflejado aquí o algo que creéis sería buena idea cambiar ya sabéis que más abajo en comentarios me encantará leerlo y la segunda cosita es que si os apetece suscribiros al blog para no perderos ni un post ya sabéis que podéis hacerlo tecleando vuestro correo electrónico en la ventanita "Sígueme por mail" que podéis ver a la derecha. Valencian children (I don’t know about other cities) started the new school year last week. Starting a new school year always means changes, that feeling of new (new books, new teacher, new school mates, etc.). And although you people who read me are adults and we aren’t starting a new school year I think a good idea to pass on that feeling to the blog. I daily receive mails, via mi hotmail list or via the blogs I check or I’m suscribed, many tutorials, curious ideas, suggestions, videos, etc. that I usually resend to the rest of my hotmail list and from now on I’ll share them with you too. The truth is that each day I wonder of all creativity and inventiveness that I find in the blogosphere, amazing!. I’ll keep on posting Monday, Wednesday and Friday (as I’m doing since the end of April when I started this blog) and Fridays will probably be a fixed day for Tutorials but from now on most of them will be from other people (I’ll post my own tutorials too but not every week). About Mondays and Wednesdays, it’ll change: a topic, a song, something curious for you to see or read, etc. You’ll see the so beautiful things I’m compiling to share them with you, I think you’ll like it too. Ah! two more things: if you want to make a suggestions or comment of anything you'd like to see here or something that would be a good idea to change you know that below you've got Comments and I'd love to read them and the second thing is that if you'd like to subscribe to the blog for not missing any post you know you can do it typing your mail in "Follow by mail" that you can see on the right. Tutorial: Broche "flor quemada" / "Burnt flower" brooch

 

Buenos díaaas! Y llegamos al viernes, fin de semanita para aprovechar los últimos días del verano, pasadlo muy bien!. Aquí tenéis un tutorial que yo llamo de "flores quemadas".

 

Good morniiing! And here is friday, ahead you've got the weekend to enjoy the last days of summer, enjoy yourselves!. Here you have a tutorial that I call of "burned flowers".

 

Material necesario/Supplies: Tres tamaños de flor, tela 100% poliester, una vela, hilo, aguja, imperdible y alguna cuenta para coser en el centro. Three sizes for the flower, 100% polyester fabric, a candle, thread, needle, safety pin and some beads to sew in the center.

 

Realización/Steps: Imprimir la foto de la forma de la flor (post del viernes pasado día 6 de Sept) y ampliarla/reducirla para conseguir tres tamaños de flor. Recortar en la tela dos flores de cada tamaño (la tela tiene que ser 100% poliester porque si no no se quemaría bien) y quemar los bordes. Coser las flores (más o menos como véis en la foto) y cosed en el centro unas cuentas y detrás un imperdible. Print the photograph of the flower (post from last friday 6th Sept) and enlarge/reduce it to get the three sizes of the flower. Cut two flowers each size from the fabric (it has to be 100% polyester if not it wouldn't burn properly) to burn the edges. Sew all the flowers (more or less as you can see by the photograph) and sew some beads in the centre and a safety pin behind it.

 

Por si os sirve de sugerencia las tres flores que podéis ver en la foto están hechas de corbatas viejas, otra manera de reciclar algo viejo en algo bonito ¿no creéis?. Un abrazo para todos! As a suggestion the three flowers you can see are made with some old ties, another way to recycle something old into something pretty, don't you think so?. A hug for all!

Tutorial: una idea para adornar un bolso/ An idea to embellish a bag

Hoy he estado mirando en la parte de "Tráfico" del blog y siempre me sorprende comprobar que gente de países tan lejanos como pueda ser China hayan entrado en mi blog. Today I've been having a look to the "Traffic" part of the blog and it always surprises me that people from countries so far from Spain like China could have had a look to my blog. This is the summary of nationalities and visits, I love it!: Spain 56, USA 48, Germany 5, Serbia 4, Mexico 3, Colombia 2, China 1, Greece 1, Ucrania 1 and Venezuela 1.


Y volviendo a las buenas costumbres del tutorial del viernes aquí tenéis el primero de Septiembre aunque más que un tutorial es una pequeña idea para adornar un bolso.

And coming back to friday tutorials here you have the first of September although more than a tutorial it's a little idea to embellish a bag.

 

Materiales/Supplies:  Sólo necesitáis un bolso liso, un trozo de vaquero, aguja e hilo. You only need a plain bag, a piece of jeans, needle and thread.

 

 

Realización/Steps: Imprimid la foto de la flor que véis más abajo y dibujarla en la tela vaquera unas 8 veces (dependiendo de lo grande y voluminosa que la queráis). Recortad las flores. En una de ellas calculad el punto medio simplemente doblando por la mitad y otra vez por la mitad y marcando con un boli, abridla. Las siete restantes dobladlas primero por la mitad y luego otra vez por la mitad cosiendo la esquina del triángulo que queda en el punto marcado a boli. Váis cosiendo todas y os quedará esta flor que simplemente utilizando un trozo de vaquero viejo adorna un bolso liso. Espero que os guste la idea y os decidáis a hacerla para un bolso, una camiseta, una toalla, un suéter, etc etc, para lo que os apetezcaaa. Un abrazo veraniego para todos!. Print the photograph of the flower you can see below and trace it on the jeans fabric about 8 times (depending on the big you want it). Cut out the flowers. In one of them mark the middle point of it by folding it in the middle and then again in the middle marking it with a pen and open it. Fold the seven flowers left first folding in the middle and then again in the middle sewing the corner of the triangle you have now to the point marked in the first flower. You sew them all and then you'll have this flower just using some old jeans embellishing a plain bag. I hope you like the idea and give it a try for a bag, for a t-shirt, a towel, a sweater, etc etc for anything you like. A hug for all!

 

Adiós vacaciones de verano.....Hola blog! / The end of summer holidays.....Hello blog!

Buenos días y buen lunes a todos! Como decía la canción: Eeeel finaaal del veranooo llegó ……….. Pues sí llegó el final de las vacaciones de verano (al menos para mí) y todos quien más quien menos hemos vuelto al trabajo, a la marcha normal, a la rutina de siempre. Bueno pues bienvenidos los que vuelven (somos afortunados de tener un sitio a donde irnos de vacaciones –viaje, casita, apartamento, etc..- y un sitio al que volver  -casa, trabajo, etc..-) y buenas vacaciones a los que tomen sus vacaciones en Septiembre, buen mes, más tranquilo y viajes más baratos al dejar de ser temporada alta así que también ventajas.

 

Good morning and good Monday to all!. As the song said: The end of the summer arrived……. Yes, the end of the summer holidays arrived (at least for me) and most of us have come back to work, to the usual routine. Well, welcome back to the ones coming back (we’re lucky to have a place to go on holidays –trip, holidays house, apartment, etc..- and a place to come back –home, job, etc..- and good holidays to the ones starting them in September, good month, quieter and with cheaper holiday trips as September is not high season prices so good advantages too.

 

En Valencia parece que sí se haya acabado el verano. Desde el lunes 26 de Agosto llueve casi todo el tiempo y las temperaturas han bajado unos 10º. De hecho el jueves 29 de Agosto leí en el periódico que el miércoles día 28 a las 19 horas tuvimos la temperatura más baja (19.2º) para ese día desde 1.986!!. Un día de finales de Agosto a las siete de la tarde, que es una de las horas en que más calor hace, teníamos sólo 19 grados, muy raro pero el sábado ya volvió el calor y el sol, bieeeen, mi querido sol. Me encanta tomar el sol, me da energía y me relaja muucho tumbarme al sol en la playa o en la piscina cosa que he hecho muchas muchas veces durante estas vacaciones de verano.

 

In Valencia it seems that summer has already ended. Since Monday 26th August it’s raining almost all the time and temperatures have dropped about 10º. In fact on Thursday 29th I read in the newspaper that on Wednesday 28th at 7 p.m. we got the lowest temperature (19.2º) for that day since 1.986!!. A day at the end of August at seven o’clock in the evening, which is one of the hottest hours of the day, we got only 19º, very strange but on saturday the heat came back and the sun too, yupiii, my dear sun. I love sunbathing, it gives me energy and at the same time it relaxes me sooo much sunbathing in the beach or pool which I have done many many times during this summer holidays.

 

Y también me fui de vacaciones unos días fuera de Valencia. Si le echáis un vistazo a los posts de los días 21 y 28 de Agosto veréis que está en marcha un concurso a ver si acertáis a qué ciudad me he ido este verano. Entre las personas que acierten sortearé el poder redactar un post sobre tema a su elección y lo pondré aquí tal cual lo redacte el ganador. Animaros a participar aún hay tiempo porque el concurso seguirá dos miércoles más los días 4 y 11 de Septiembre. Vengaaaa, que es fáaaacil. Un abrazo veraniego a todos!

 

And I also did a quick trip outside Valencia. If you have a look at Wednesdays posts on the 21st and 28th you’ll see there is a summer quiz on trying to guess which city I have visited during this holidays. The winner will have the opportunity to write a post, whichever topic you prefer, and I’ll post it here as I’ll receive it. Hace no mucho dando una vuelta por unos grandes almacenes ví un caftán de Calvin Klein hecho de gasa con un precio que pa qué os cuentooo y me dio la idea de poneros este tutorial por si os apeteciera haceros uno en un ratito y lucir bien guapas en la playa o piscina. Perdonad mi poca habilidad para dibujar pero he pensado que estos dibujos os facilitarían el saber cómo hacer el caftán. Espero que os guste y que lo luzcáis yendo a la playa fresquitas y con estilo. Not so long ago I went to a big department store and I saw a Calvin Klein beach cover-up, a very pricey one, made of gauze and it gave me the idea to put this tutorial today in case you want to make one for yourselves in almost no time and look beautiful in the beach or pool. Please excuse my bad drawing abilities but I thought this drawings would make easier for you to know how to do the beach cover-up.I hope you like it and enjoy going stylish to the beach. Materiales: Dos pañuelos rectangulares de algodón o material fino  de unos 60 cm de ancho por 1.80 cm de largo aprox., hilo, aguja y tijeras.

 

Supplies: Two scarves of about 60 cm wide x 1.80 cm long, thread, needle and scissors.

 

Realización: Poned los pañuelos derecho con derecho y cosedlos a lo largo dejando una abertura en el centro de unos 45 cm para poder meter la cabeza. Como podéis ver el caftán tiene escote de pico delante y detrás. Podéis coserle los costados un poco para que se quede más como un vestido de playa o dejarlo tal cual.

 

Steps: Face right sides of scarves, sew them along the length leaving an opening for the head of about 45 cm. As you can see the beach cover-up has a V-neck front and back. You can sew both sides a little bit for it to be more like a dress or leave it as it is.

 

 

Rebajas de verano/Summer sales

Buenos días y buen miércoles! Durante este mes de Agosto nos veremos sólo los miércoles así mantendremos el contacto mientras todos recargamos las pilas durante las vacacionees.

Hoy os tengo que decir que.....no me pude resistir, no me pude resistiiiiiiir. Al final hace unos días fui a las terceras rebajas de Zara Home y "piqué". Hay aún muchas cositas chulas que se pueden encontrar. Aquí os pongo una foto de lo que he comprado hasta ahora (las rebajas duran hasta final de mes y no me despido de volver a..."picar" jejeje). Animaros y daros una vuelta por allí que ahora es el momento de compraros un caprichito a buen precio. Por ejemplo las tazas valían 7.99€, la primera rebaja fue a 5.99€, después a 4.99€ y yo las he comprado a 2.99€ y el vaso de plástico azul valía 3.99€, la primera rebaja fue a 2.99€ y lo he comprado por 1.50€. Las servilletas son 100% algodón, valían unos 6€ y he comprado las 4 por 2.99€. Son algodón de buena calidad así que creo que las utilizaré para combinar con alguna otra tela y hacer alguna cosa de patchwork. Como siempre digo para escribir este post no he recibido ni regalo ni dinero alguno de Zara Home, son mis opiniones al 100%. Today I have to say that......I couldn´t resist, I couldn't resistttttttt. In the end some days ago I went to the third sales in Zara Home and I bought. There you still can find very nice things to buy. Here you have a photograph of what I've bought up to now (the third sales are on until the end of the month so I will probably not "resist" buying something again jejeje). Go there and have a look now it's the best moment to find that "little something" at the best price. For example the mugs were 7.99€, the first sale 5.99€, then 4.99€ and I have bought them for 2.99€ and the blue plastic glass was 3.99€, the first sale was 2.99€ and I have bought it for 1.50€. The 100% cotton napkins were about 6€ and I have bought the four for 2.99€. It's a good quality cotton so I think I'll use them to mix with other fabrics to make a little quilting something. As I always say I haven't received any money or present from Zara Home to write this post, they are my opinions at 100%.
